Mount Allen Eco Tours welcomes wildlife enthusiasts on a guided tour of an award-winning farm managed for biodiversity, and which hosts rare species and many historical features.

Mount Allen Eco Tours offers visitors a unique opportunity to gain access to a part of the country that has been virtually undisturbed on the shores of Lough Allen. They offer a number of walks, with the option of focusing on local ecology, biodiversity, local history or farm management/maintenance itself, all personally guided and explained.

Mount Allen Farm is a 100-acre organic Aberdeen Angus sucker farm on the shores of Lough Allen, Co. Roscommon.

The farm has been farming organically on the site since 1996 with a clear focus on nature and habitat conservation. We are happy to cater for individuals, couples, families, small and large groups throughout the year.

The tour is on private roads and maintained grass paths, with care being given to ensure a safe environment for children and adults alike. Mount Allen Farm hosts a number of varied habitats which in turn allow us to showcase a wide variety of native insect, animal and plant species. With all these habitats and species on the farm it is possible to show how habitat restoration and conservation have affected and improved both their diversity and quantity over time. The plants, birds and insects may vary during the year and depending on the weather, but should it rain we have viewing shelters along the path where we can stand in and continue the discussion.
