It’s beginning to look a lot like….Christmas in Roscommon!

Streets twinkling with a million fairy lights, a visit to see Santa, Christmas Markets, inviting open fires or that hand enwrapping warm drink after a magical walk along the frosty country trails … County Roscommon awaits you with a warm welcome this Winter Season.

It’s the perfect place to visit and make memories with loved ones, that will last a lifetime.

A visit to see Santa

There’s nothing more magical at this time of year than the little eyes of a child lighting up with excitement, when they meet Santa Claus… and we have a range of locations to choose from to meet this amazing man.

Strokestown Park Victorian Christmas Experience

Your visit to the Victorian Christmas Experience begins at Santa’s Stables and continues as you are brought by the Elves through the magical tunnel into the secret underground rooms of Strokestown House. Here you will find the Elves as they prepare for Christmas.   The highlight of the Victorian Christmas Experience is meeting Santa Claus by the fire as you receive a Christmas gift.

Arigna Santa Experience

A visit to Santa in Arigna is a unique, exciting fun-filled day out for all the family. Visit Santa from 11am-5pm on Sat 7th, Sun 8th, Sat 14th, Sun 15th and Sat 21st and from 12pm-5pm Sun 22nd December. To Book visit www.arignaminingexperience.ie/santa/

Athleague Village Magical Christmas Experience!

Join the Village Elf Hunt and Santa at the Suck on the 7th & 8th December in the Suck Valley Visitor Centre, Carol singing by Candlelight on the 8th December in the Peoples Park (weather permitting) in support of Pieta House, School Craft Fair on 12th December in the Suck Valley Visitor Centre, and see the Village Festive Windows competing throughout December!!

Christmas Markets

Or why not savour the atmosphere of a Christmas Market with tempting aromas in the air, seasonal music, cute gifts and tasty food, you will soon be the festive spirit!

Strokestown Christmas Market

The Strokestown Christmas market will run over three consecutive weekends in November and December and each weekend will be packed with fun, activities and entertainment for all ages. The Grand Switch On will take place on Friday 29th November.

King House Christmas Craft Fair

The annual King House Christmas Craft fair takes place both inside and outside King House showcasing some of Roscommon’s finest Artists, Artisans and Crafts People. Ballintubber Christmas Festival

The Ballintubber Christmas Festival kicks off on Sunday 1st December at 6pm. Turning on of Hospice Christmas Tree in Church grounds, Carols, turning on of Village Christmas Lights, Blessing of Crib, arrival of Santa by Sleigh. Hot chocolate, teas, coffee and Christmas bites will be served in Kenny’s where there will also be a mini pop up Christmas Shop.

Christmas is a time for giving and caring

…and this is the 3rd year that Dorothy Shannon and her amazing team in King House Tea Rooms are giving up their Christmas Day to offer Christmas Dinner for those who maybe alone.
