Roscommon Arts Centre is delighted to present Brian O’Doherty Coming Home funded by Creative Ireland in association with fine art print studio Stoney Road Press, Dublin and The Irish Museum of Modern Art. Presented on the occasion of the launch of the newly developed visual art space at Roscommon Arts Centre, Coming Home includes a number of O’Doherty’s new works recently published by Stoney Road Press as limited edition prints in addition to Rope Drawing #128 Flipped Corner (Green/Blue).
Born in Ballaghaderreen in 1928 he studied medicine at UCD, Cambridge, and Harvard before moving to New York where he devoted himself to the visual arts. In the 1960s, he was arts critic for the New York Times but today his own works are on display in New York’s Museum of Modern Art and Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Pompidou in Paris, the Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) and the Hugh Lane in Dublin.
Coming Home has been funded by Creative Ireland and is presented in association with fine art print studio Stoney Road Press, Dublin and IMMA, Dublin.
